UTAH EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE COMPANY HONORED WITH 4 EDUCATION AWARDS

NORTH LOGAN, UTAH – LetterPress Software won four educational software awards at the 10th annual Education Software Review Awards (EDDIES), one of the nation’s most prestigious awards programs which honors innovative and content-rich programs that foster excellence in educational software publishing.

Winners were announced this week by the awards sponsor, the ComputED Learning Center of San Diego. Entries came from across the world with winners named in eight categories.

LetterPress, previous winner of other top education awards, walked away with EDDIE awards for the following programs they have designed and developed: Diabetes Won’t Defeat Us, a diabetes and obesity prevention program for Native Americans; Exploring America, a website with a series of interactive lessons for teaching U.S. history; Growing a Nation, a social studies program that tells the story of American agriculture; and The Parenting Game, an interactive simulation that teaches parents positive ways to handle children’s misbehaviors.

“To have four of our educational software programs recognized with other talented and distinguished publishers, such as Scholastic, Inc., PLATO Learning, ABC-CLIO, and Texas Instruments, is a thrill” said Mark Lacy, senior vice president of new product development at LetterPress.

The EDDIE awards sponsor chose five of the winners to profile on its web site. The Exploring America U.S. series web site is one of the five. Reviewers from the ComputED Learning Center write, “Exploring America is an artistic and unique approach to teaching students American history, with emphasis on how events have shaped the nation. Aligned with state and national standards, it is an excellent supplement to any American history curriculum.”
